You don't have to be fit to enjoy life, but life is easier fitter

I believe health and fitness doesn’t have to fit neatly into a specific style or category of a traditional sport, club or class, but that it needs to be right for you and your body. This will be different for everyone, and different for the same individual at different stages in their life.
Yes, you need consistency to see a change and make improvements whatever your goal, but that doesn’t have to be from applying one specific sport or fitness discipline. A combination of styles and challenges can be used to get results. And these results should make you feel confident in your strength and ability to move well in everyday life and enjoy the activities you chose to do, whatever your age.
What I can offer

If you’re looking for someone to help support both your short and long-term goals (of being physically fit to enjoy both your life now - whether that be pursuing the activities you love, being fit and well enough to enjoy being active with your children or grandchildren, or wanting to maintain your independence for as long as possible in the future) let me know, I’d love to be part of your fitness and movement journey!
Having always focused on how training can support the life and lifestyle that someone wants to lead, I’m experienced at building and tailoring programmes that are effective, progressive and fun. It’s often difficult to know where to start or what type of training to do, I can help you with this. Whether that be on a 1-2-1 or 2-1 personal training basis, or in small group personal training sessions. I also offer 1-2-1 Pilates sessions, please contact me for details on these.

Passionate Fitness Expert
I’ve always just enjoyed variety, movement and the journey of learning and trying new things! As a result of this ‘non-specialist’ fitness journey, I’ve been able to build and maintain a good level of usable (functional) fitness - both cardiovascular and strength - that allows me to enjoy my passion of being active outdoors, exploring beautiful Devon and meeting lovely people along the way.
Now in my mid 40s, I continue my outdoor adventures and tailor my indoor training to focus more on addressing muscle imbalances, the retention of muscle and strength, and bone health. This is to give me the best possible chance of being able to continue my outdoor adventures for as long as possible, but also prepare and support myself and others through the perimenopause and menopause.

Becky Lipscombe
I hadn’t been in a gym for years and didn’t have a clue where to start with strength and conditioning. Carly has been super encouraging and made it completely non-scary! She's created a personalised plan for me and with her help I’m seeing results already.

Larissa Sullivan
I joined Carly’s SGPT class as a beginner to lifting weights. I was nervous, but Carly quickly put me at ease. She is encouraging, knowledgeable and patient. She carefully explains the technique for each exercise and which muscles are being targeted. I look forward to each class and feel in safe hands with Carly, knowing that she will help me to progress safely at a pace I am comfortable with.

Michaela Elliot
I recently joined EW Fitness to lose weight & build strength after having some time out of routine fitness. Carly has been so welcoming, & patient, after I lost my confidence going to gym settings. Carly has been supportive, and is very knowledgeable of all fitness areas. I would recommend these classes to all abilities and look forward to progressing with Carly.
